Palinta

Palinta” by Hanna Rédling: “My grandparents’ antique and museum-like living room seemed such a magical place to me as a child. As time passed by it became more like a place of rigidity and discipline. Nowadays I only attach a blunt and bittersweet feeling to the room that comes from childhood nostalgia and negative experiences. Ambivalent and bizarre feelings that are difficult to understand. In my series I’ve displayed all my bad memories in a place that is not connected to me yet resembles my grandparents’ old living room. Through my stories I tried to answer the question: As time goes by, can nostalgia mend those injuries and tragedies that happened to us?”
