Penelopiad

The installation ‘Penelopiad’ by Lightning & Kinglyface aka Anna Fulmine and Victoria Shahrokh, uses a white, stretched canvas as a metaphor for human skin. Named after a novella by Margaret Atwood, the artwork fills the entire room, stretching from the floor to the ceiling, held down by eerie white hands.

Nothing in the video is computer generated trickery: it simply uses clever camera tricks and lots of printed photographs to create the seamless transitions. ‘All the trickery took place literally in front of the camera,’ Witte says.

Food Photographer Beth Galton and Food Stylist Charlotte Omnès collaborated for the series ‘Cut Food’. We can’t decide if looking at the pictures makes us sick or hungry but it is definetely a fun idea to provide a peek at food in a way that defies gravity- slicing it right down the middle in whatever container it’s normally found in.

The ‘Parkhaus Berlin’ is a showroom founded in 2002 by product designer Anja Witte. She started the business as a felt crafting manufacture which steadily built up its own esthetic identity. You can still purchase products made of felt like an oversized seat pad or a couple of smaller accessories.

Westpol architects created this wonderfully picturesque spot in Vöcklabruck, Austria where visitors are able to sit in the middle of a pond without getting wet. The scenic landscape includes a path leading down to a hollowed out circular area where people can take a seat and relax amongst nature.

‘Forest’ is a large interactive musical laser installation by Marshmallow Laser Feast. This giant interactive forest covers almost 450 square meters and is composed of over 150 musical ‘trees’ made of rods and lasers. The audience can freely explore the space, physically tapping, shaking, plucking, and vibrating the trees to trigger sounds and lasers.
