Life Drawing

Commissioned to promote the life-drawing classes at east London’s Book Club, Wriggles & Robins devised this short stop-motion film in which a life model is drawn and then dances across various easels. Created by setting up ten easels in a life drawing class, each capturing a different angle of the model, the artists were filmed sketching the model.

The Architect’s Ingredients

The Avant/Garde Diaries met Ole Sondresen, a New York-based architect whose personal and non-intrusive work utilizes the humble aesthetics of reclaimed and recycled materials. His office is in the mythical 80 Wooster Street basement studio of George Maciunas – a location long abandoned after its original incarnation as a hive for Fluxus gatherings with artists like Yoko Ono, Andy Warhol, and Jonas Mekas.

In deep concentration the artist carefully assembles 16 bare ribs of palm leaves and a feather by balancing each piece in front of the other.

A million times

Swedish Design Studio Human since 1982 combined 288 analogue clocks to create this installation of shifting monochrome patterns, forming letters and numbers. This piece is called ‘A Million Times’ for Victor Hunt Designart and features 576 motors which can be controlled via a customized software on an iPad.
