On my last day during my trip to Oulu, Finland I was invited to come to a certain place at the Oulun river side, where a boat would wait for me. Indeed, a typical, wide tar boat lay ashore. I took a seat on one the soft and warm reindeer furs that decorated the boat’s benches.

Kia ora New Zealand

Kia Ora from New Zealand! iGNANT Travel visited ,Aotearoa‘ – the Land of the Long White Cloud. New Zealand‘s rugged mountains, dramatic coastlines and lush forests inspired adventurers ever since the first Polynesian canoes arrived at the far away Island. Maori tradition says that the great explorer, Kupe and his wife first saw New Zealand from afar, all cloaked in clouds, and that‘s how it got its name.

Thalhofer · Südtirol

During my trip to South Tirol I am spending one day on a farm and discover a new world. Late at night, I arrive at my new home for the next 24 hours, the Thalhofer in Latzfons. As it is dark, I can not recognize much, except for Nico the family’s dog lying in front of the door, two friendly faces of farmer Florian and his wife Erika and my cozy bed.

We drove through the midst of the nowhere: endless pine forests lined the dusty, winding road, the scorching sun drenched through the treetops and shed a vivid light both on the forest ground, that was densely overgrown with all sorts of bushes, and the road that lay ahead of us.

HUA HIN

I was in Hua Hin, Thailand for iGNANTravel. Inbetween the welcoming entrystamp and the friendly hint of a german border official ‘you are in the wrong queue!’, I’ve spent some really nice days at the Golf of Thailand. By the way, I wasn’t standing in the wrong line, I just got really tanned.

Causses in Paris offers ‘Slow food à Pigalle’ and that is exactly what you get in the small corner shop that also has a bistro. They have a fine selection of food consisting of mainly regional products. For Causses it is of great importance to offer saisonal food and, because you usually also eat with your eyes, they created a nice and cozy athmosphere where you can enjoy your shopping to the fullest.

‘Grüß dich’ South Tirol

In South Tirol I had mainly sunny weather, delicious food, great wine, good company and an amazingly diverse nature. If you stroll around Bozen, a beautiful little village in the north of South Tirol you might hear an interesting mixture between Italien, German and Austrian language. South Tirol has a vast cultural diversity, a long history and plenty activities to offer.

The moss was moist and ice cold. It covered the entirety of the sun-drenched forest ground, allowing plenty of all kinds of mushrooms through. There was dark green and softer moss, lighter and needle-shaped sorts and most of all, the white reindeer lichen that sprawled over everything it could reach.

Merci · Paris

As we stumble in the backyard of the concept store Merci, to hide from a sudden shower we recognize the cute little Fiat 500 in a bright red, standing in front of the shop. As we get to know later, the little car will be stuffed with plants or items from the shop every now and then, depending on occasion and season.
