A Raw Concrete Abode Nestled Into A Pine Forest

Scroll

Architect Luciano Kruk built an exposed concrete house set amidst a pine forest on Argentina’s Costa Esmeralda.

“We intended the house to awaken its inhabitants’ perceptions and to maximize their senses.”Situated parallel to the sea on a virgin sand dune hosting a maritime pine forest, the house comprises a large social area, four bedrooms and ensuites, as well as two outdoor swimming pools. Respecting the topography of the terrain, the architects placed the house far back from the street, to allow it to merge with the terrain, and ensure its inhabitants’ privacy. Natural light floods in to the communal space through the rooftop, which features linear cracks. Speaking of their intention behind the project, the architects state, “Through its spatial synthesis and the simple character of its materiality, we intended the house to awaken its inhabitants’ perceptions and to maximize their senses, as in the mystic reciprocity that often appears between people and things.”
