These days we spend most of our time in front of the screen which is why we appreciate the quite hours that we get to spend with a good book and a warm cup of tea, diving into the world of the printed word even more.
Of course we’re also keen collectors of great Magazines and coffee-table books, such as The Monocle Guide to Better Living, The Kinfolk Table or Vivian Maier: Street Photographer. Today we’d like to introduce you to our favorite spots to get our hands on the latest publications. Enjoy.

MOTTO

Motto at Skalitzer Straße in Kreuzberg was actually the first physical branch of the Motto distribution company which supplied over 100 stores around the world with the most interesting publications, so their selection is quite distinguished. They’ve put their focus on photography and art books that you’ll not find everywhere and that are often printed in small editions. At first you might feel a bit overwhelmed by this small space crammed with books, but you’ll soon find that they mastered to display their variety quite well so take your time and go through the titles, we’re sure you’ll leave this store with your new favorite read.

Here you can also find a wide selection of publications in English language and spend hours going through the titles to discover some exciting rarities. When inside the store it rather feels like you’re exploring the extensive private library of a friend than a shop, so the invitation to come over and browse the shelves always stands.
