These days we're facing real trouble when we have to decide whether we're full or not. We're constantly eating, often not even sure what's in these products that we shovel into our bodies. Addressing our mass consumption, Per Johansen created the series 'Mæt' (Full) where plastic containers have been crammed full of everyday foods, referring to our excessive greed and consumer mentality.
Although Johansen uses an array of foods including vegetables, pasta and fish, it's the claustrophobic meats that seem most powerful with the raw mounds of flesh being so nastily squashed into bottles. It's jarring, gross and sublime all at the same time.
