Freelance photographer Kaitlin Rebesco is inspired by the constant change and renewal of all things. This drew her to documentary photography and is a theme she has explored throughout different fine art series. ‘Vanishing City’ is her latest series of images taken in Chicago, where she grew up. Every once in a while fog takes over the city, and it is completely transformed. The structured landscape softens, becoming mysterious and otherworldly. ‘In these moments the city itself really seems like a living, breathing organism. It is as if the buildings have grown roots into the ground and have come to life, changing along with the earth they are built on.’ she explains. We totally agree and are fascinated by her shots of living skyscrapers.
