In his photo series ‘Stills’ Dutch photographer Arjan Benning creates surrealistic and destructive still life sceneries. In his coldly lit photographs you can see a computer or toaster cut through, kitchen messes and steaks hanging from a wall. A lot of questions to ask, when looking at the carefully arranged, odd objects. He states that he seeks the border where authenticity and amazement are close together, a principle reflected in these pictures. Benning works for various advertising agencies, cultural institutions, museums and magazines worldwide.
