Words

Control, delete – Wafting green, pot-bellied branches sprawled, hollow words in treetops, when the night falls they disrobe their green. I’m leaving to forget the images, I had said and yet fished at the base of the lake to fetch words of mud, sticky, like lies on the mouth, longing trickles along.

I’m leaving to forget the images, I had said, shrieked – on your mark, get set, go! – And then nothing happened.
