Photographer Nicolas Alan Cope started his project 'Landscape' as a reaction to his series of strict and rigid architectural images. He says: 'Photographing plants and trees felt like the perfect compliment to the architectural project which had become restricted by my own ideas of space and composition. It wasn't long before I had created a set of parameters for the landscape images, establishing a style unique to the project, but still analogous to the architectural series.' This close relationship to architecture, the very bright and colorless shots, the contrasted desolate settings and the detailed compositions of the still photographs is what makes these images so outstanding to other landscape photography.
