Finding peace, freedom and nature is what mattered most to Gudrun and her House, a cozy little two-bedroom apartment in Mellau of Vorarlberg, Austria designed by architect Sven Matt. Due to the tight budget they focussed on the most necessary in terms of floor space and construction. The outside is made from prefabricated timber elements based on a concrete foundation with a large living space, two small bedrooms and the entrance. The rooms are organized around a central core containing the bathroom and technical installations. The interior changes from dark to bright, wide and narrow and a terrace and a west-facing window integrate the nature into the home and offers an idyllic view for Gudrun, where she finds peace and nature, visit of neighbors, rabbits and deer.
