House T

Hiroyuki Shinozaki Architects built a residence and atelier for a couple in the center of Tokyo. Floors like bookshelf plates are placed at the different level in the shifted box. The furniture on the each floor creates living room, dining room, kitchen and bedroom. The plate-like-floors are hooked by columns which are three-dimensionally intersected at the middle of the box and this simple structure gives latitude for space composition. Each different activity of daily living is taking place at the different floors with an open view. Lightings hung from the top of each box illuminate the floors. House T, living on the stage. Who’s up for it?
