The iGNANT App is available since almost two months by now. The resonance and feedback has been quite overwhelming. We gladly noticed that the majority of you liked our latest innovation.
Certainly there is a need for improvement on our firstling and we received numerous emails and comments on it. One of the most popular demands was a landscape mode for the the pictures. So we added this feature and with the updated version you’ll be able to look at pictures in the horizontal view. Furthermore we integrated the category ‘Monifaktur‘ and if you are lucky owner of an iPhone 5 you will no longer be bothered by black bars as the content is shown full-screen.
There were further suggestions, like a zoom function for the photographs. Though we decided not to realize this idea as the pictures in the App are of a rather low resolution and if you zoom them they will look all pixelated. We hope you’ll like the updated version and if something isn’t working as it should, don’t hesitate to drop us an email or leave a comment in the box below. We’ll try to resolve any problem as soon as possible.

Und warum kann/darf/soll man die Bilder nicht auf dem iPhone speichern können? Das fehlt wirklich! Schade.

@Gustav: Die Bilder gehören ja nicht uns. Wir haben dafür nur eingeschränkte Nutzungsrechte. Bei Apps wie SPIEGEL Online usw. geht das auch nicht!

@Anna: Ja auch dieser Wunsch ist mehr als einmal aufgetaucht. Die Entwicklung einer solchen App kostet sehr sehr viel Zeit und vor allem sehr viel Geld. Manche Leute denken, dass man die Codes der iPhone App einfach 1zu1 für eine Android App benutzen könnte. Dem ist aber leider nicht so. Leider sind wir kein Multimillionendollar Unternehmen, das sich solche Sachen einfach aus dem Ärmel schütteln kann. So gerne ich eine solche App für Android Nutzer machen würde, aber es lässt sich momentan einfach nicht finanzieren.

kann man denn die Bilder nicht in höherer Auflösung in die App einspeisen, damit das Zoomen dann eben Sinn machen würde? Klar würde dadurch der Ladevorgang länger dauern, aufgrund der größeren Bilddatei, aber zur heutigen Zeit nun auch nicht wirklich ein Problem.

@V.W.: Leider ist das schon ein Problem, da die Anzahl der Leute mit LTE bei unter einem Prozent liegt. Mit 3G wird es schon schwierig. Ich glaube die Mehrzahl der Leute verzichtet lieber aufs Zoomen und muss dafür nicht 10 Sekunden warten bis jedes einzelne Bild geladen ist.
Es sind genau diese Probleme, bei denen es schwer ist eine Lösung zu finden, die alle glücklich macht. Wir versuchen dann eben den best möglichen "Mittelweg" zu nehmen.

Ich schliesse mich der Anna an. Das App für Android wär der absolute mega Renner. Hab mich von meinen Apple -ich-date-alle-6-Monate-aus verabschiedet.
