‘House M for two’ by japanese Hiroyuki Shinozaki Architects is a one-story wooden house for two women. A 6m by 6m cube sits in the middle of the site, while kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and storage are radially spread all around the place. Thereby all these spaces are covered and organized by a big roof of wood beams made out of lumber. Each gap between the spread spaces works as parking lot or entry, while you can glimpse out of the window to see the trees outside. This very simple living space is filled with light from the gap and supports the functional spaces around it.

When my wife was going through the web, she found this design and she was very impressed on how clean and zen-like the entire dwelling is. She particularly liked the idea that the entire house is painted white (though it might be a real challenge to maintain it) and the pieces of furniture was very minimalist. I was telling her that we had a client at the storage in Northern Beaches who requested to have her items delivered back to her place, after it was renovated, and it has the same atmosphere and feel to it as the one shown here in the article. She hopes to have the same renovation to our home when our kids are little bit older.
