Filles du Calvaire

There is not much to find around the web about Pascal Vilcollet. I know that he is a painter from France, living and working in Pontault-Combault, close to Paris. He painted the beautiful series ‘Filles du Calvaire’ and what seems to be just a bunch of normal sized pictures is actually a collection of huge canvases of 200×160cm size. It’s hard to keep a vision of the whole composition at that scale but Vilcollet does it capably. Besides I really enjoy the nice complexity of his pictures, a beautiful overall composition and the subtle passion.
