Suga Atelier built the ‘CedarHouse’ using sticks of cedar wood. They developed a new structural system which uses ancient wooden frame techniques and steel bolts to create a free and warm inner space. In Japan wood is mostly used for structural reasons or as finishing material but Suga Atelier´s architects thought they had to find a better way of using it so they took many smaller sized simple woods and weaved them together to create a free and pleasing space.
