What is the value of pictures online? what language do they speak? and do they even have their own esthetics? Frieder Oelze and Claudia Symank, students at Bauhaus Uni Weimar followed these questions and tried to find answers with their magazine '72 dpi'.'It is supposed to go explore and to find what others lost.' In the magazine you will find among others a series of pictures made of facebook profiles of young girls, furthermore a series of remodelled pictures of men named Hans Jürgen. The students analyzed the esthetics of google earth and developped it to a textile pattern.
Both students worked with pictures, developed something new out of the material they found and invited other artists to do the same.
