In his pictures Osma Harvilahti pays special attention to careful color coordination and composition combined with other elements that happen to inspire him. At first he felt a bit troubled to get inspired in New York, where he lives and works because it seemed that everything had been photographed before. The new urban scenery is also quite far from the idyllic Finnish landscapes that most of his earlier works been based on. Though after a few months he started to think differently and learned to take advantage of the phenomenons and colorful characters the city has to offer. His inspiration mainly comes from making new friends and working with like minded people and for Harvilahti the best part of NY is the passionate and intelligent people that push you to think differently and meet new standards.
