ABE House

Envisioned as an outdoor garden, the interior circulation of this dwelling by ‘Urban Architecture Office’ creates a journey as inhabitants pass between rooms. the exterior form is generated as three volumes of varied heights are clustered at various angles. Interconnected with arched portals, the continuous and delineated internal path begins from the open space on the site which was maintained surrounding the building.

The first impression I got looking at this house is that it grows out of the ground. Because of its raw tone, it blends with the road perfectly. This is what good architecture is - a symbiotic relationship with the building’s surroundings. I notice the furniture in the interior goes with the same concept. I would love to use some strong and clean lines in furniture design. Amish furniture would do well with such a concept. I can imagine the strong lines of the joints of the legs of the table, with a clean table top as a finish. Just beautiful.
