Nacho Ormaechea sitzt gerne auf Parkbänken und beobachtet Menschen. Er ist unterwegs auf der Straße, um Fotos zu machen, die er später für seine Collagen verwendet. Er geht auf Safari im urbanen Dschungel und lauert auf Motive, Inspirationen, Geschichten, Menschen. Bewusst auf sein Umfeld achtend, versucht er die Gedanken hinter der Fassade der Fußgänger zu erraten und überblendet seine eigenen Assoziationen mit den Shilouetten seiner Motive. Dabei kommt eine interessante Verbindung zwischen ihm und seinem Gegenüber zustande. Eine Art Halbwahrheit zwischen physischer Anwesenheit und eigenem, fiktionalem Gedankengerüst.
‘You wander around on the street, absorbed in your own thoughts without having the time neither the will or the simple curiosity to look at other people. Just a second, one snapshot would nonetheless be enough to catch one piece of mind, the frailty of a mere thought. What is her or his story? Can I only guess it? What about the people they know, the places where they go, their fears and dreams? To which point can one imagine them by just looking at those anonyms? Does the eye of the camera have the power to sketch their stories on a single shot?’
