Der gebürtige Schwede Leo Berne lebt und arbeitet in Paris. Neben der Fotografie ist er auch Mitbegründer des Filmkollektivs MEGAFORCE und macht Musik für Chinese Man Records. Nach seinem Motto ’to cheat the real’ versucht Berne mit der Fotografie der Wirklichkeit zu entgehen. Seine Art zu fotografieren vergleicht er selbst mit dem Schreiben eines Tagebuchs, da alle Aufnahmen Fragmente seines alltäglichen Lebens zeigen. Damit diese Momente nicht aus seiner Erinnerungen verblassen, werden sie visuell festgehalten.
‚I take pictures like a tourist, mostly to create nice images and souvenirs but I feel like those images cannibalize my memory. With the time, they become stronger than my memories, they loose their substance and become almost unfamiliar.’

I am absolutely in love with your photography, the use of light! The unaware stae of your subjects in some of the photos are great comments on humanity, the more photo- studio photos that play on pattern and color mimic the nature that is just by simple coincidence the backdrop of the subject in the photo! GREAT!!!!
