Please introduce yourself:
My name is Caterina Silenzi. I am a new mom and an artist. I’ve never been good at talking about myself, so I chose to communicate through an alternative, means to the keyword sculpture. I hope that my sculptures have not decided to keep quiet.

Let’s imagine you were a dinner menue, what would be served tonight?
Tonight the menu is: Hors d’oeuvre: Boiled eggs snakes, vine Verdicchio di Matelica (dop). First course: Pterodactyl wings and nail of toad soup, vine Rosso Piceno Superiore. Main course: Cactus slice and big salad with nettle and daisies, vine Passerina. Dessert: Tiramisù della nonna with vino cotto. Caffè and Varnelli.

Why did you move to the place you are currently living?
I’m born here. Some years ago I moved to Spain for 5 years, after I moved to Canada for 2 years, then I decided to come back in my country and this part is the best part to live in Italy. I live near the sea and not far from the mountains; no pollution, no kaos, no stress, this can be perfect! Anyway I’m waiting for the fall of the government and the change of president. If this does not happen I’ll be moving as far as possible, with my partner and my daughter.

What is your most beloved and exercised ritual?
Currently I dont have any ritual. Can I say that I eat my nails? Is it a ritual?:)

Is there currently something overestimated in your opinion?
Yes, probably everything we have, I mean material things. Sometimes I think it would be better to live in a place where we don’t have to think about parking, about the broken boiler, about phone bill… all this kind of things that make me feel stupid.

What do your parents think of your choice of profession?
Nice question! My parents don’t know about my profession! I’m joking! My mother thinks that I’m very lucky because I can do something I like. The truth is she is very sad for me. My father said: I like it! (he never wastes words). The truth is: He thinks it would be better for me and for my economic situation to make some funerary artifacts.
